Answer

North has a 5-card suit in Clubs. Clubs is a minor suit, and that's always balanced in a 5332 shape hand. Long suits can help in NT contracts, and it's easier to get to game in NT than in a minor.

- Question 5
(of 5 on this page)
Look at the hands to the right. Is South's hand balanced ?
Answer
1 . yes
Not only is it balanced, but it's also got stoppers in every suit, & a nice 5-card minor, and no more than one doubleton. So it would be a good candidate for playing in no trumps... depending on what partner has, of course.
