What should you bid ?
1 ). 2NT
Not 4 Spades. I know you have suit agreement, and I know you have a game going hand. But what if your partner has a much better hand and there is slam chance ? If you go straight to 4 Spades, you'll use up all the bidding space. Bid a Jacoby 2NT to tell your partner you have an opening hand and Major suit fit. He'll then describe his hand more fully.

Partner's Club bid was great news. He has a very short suit in Clubs (maximum one card), which means the enemy have all the good clubs and at the most only one of them is any use. So Slam is on. You should cue bid, Hearts, showing 1st round control in Hearts.

You open the bidding with 1 Spade. Your partner replies with 2NT.
Answer
Could your partner have any of the following ?
3 . a doubleton
Certainly NOT a singleton or a void. With a singleton or a void he would NOT have bid 2NT, but would have made a splinter bid, essentially a double-jump-shift to the short suit. See Quiz no. B 0151, or page 0151.
