Q J
What should you bid ?
You've got 25-27 HCP and a guaranteed 8-card Major match. A Slam seems very improbable, and 3NT seems slightly risky with the shortage in Hearts.

What should you bid ? (Assume that you do not use transfers)
You've got 25-27 HCP, with 7-9 cards in Spades. NT seems slightly risky with the shortage in Hearts, but we cannot get to game in Spades yet, until partner reveals he has more than 2 of them. However, you are strong, so you should bid at the 3-level. Partner will raise to 4 Spades if he has 3 of them.

Your partner replies with 3 Spades. What should you bid ?
You know that your partner has 5 Spades, so that's 9 altogether. You have maximum points, and an outside doubleton. Your partner's bid is either showing game interest or Slam interest. In case it's Slam interest, cue bid your Aces. Your partner will carry on the process if he's very strong, or put it into game in Spades if he is merely strong.
